Public record opens
This is the first filing in the public record of Draypferd, a single-player, first-person mecha sim: you pilot a working machine drafted into a corporate war, across a solar system where the ground remembers every crater you make.
Where things stand
The design phase is complete — nine full design sessions, closed out with an adversarial gap audit, before a line of game code. The result is a design brief with falsifiable milestone gates: each phase of development has a concrete test it must pass before the next one starts. Milestones are gates, not dates, and that’s how progress will be reported here.
There is nothing to look at yet. The current corpus is documents, and the honest thing is to say so.
What happens next
- Spike Zero — proving the asset pipeline: a spec file goes in, headless Blender fabricates a mesh, and the engine loads it. The first visual artifact of the project will be turntable renders of the first fabricated chassis.
- M0, Foundations — engine plus destructible voxel terrain plus persistence. Its gate: carve a tunnel, restart the game, and the tunnel is still there — at 60 fps on the min-spec machine, a $400-class laptop with integrated graphics. All performance claims will come with the frame counter on screen.
How this devlog works
Filings land roughly every two weeks, tied to playable builds. Failed benchmarks and cut features get reported the same way passed gates do — the record is only useful if it’s honest. Each written post pairs with a short video clip once there is anything worth pointing a camera at.
Filed and witnessed. More when the pipeline moves.
